But, ok. Here is my attempt to remember everything I have done in the past week!
Day 1 we arrive and went straight to our apartments! The apartments are absolutely AMAZING, right out of a magazine! We have an absolutely gorgeous kitchen with a connecting living room and a HUGE balcony! Our bed rooms are a little small, but still cozy! The apartments also come equipped with a laptop and printer which is SO nice now that our classes have started!
Speaking of classes, they began and Monday and I could not be happier! I am taking 5 total classes, 3 of which are history, one sociology, and one culture class! The culture class is called Celtic Myth and Legends, the Sociology is called Irish Communal Identity, and the 3 history are Northern Irish Troubles, Perspectives on Northern Ireland, and Writing on the Wall. I am SO excited for all of them! At first I was a little skeptical about the history ones but they turned out to be super interesting. The two about the Northern Irish troubles seem to compliment eachother with lots of overlapping material, which is very helpful! Also, the Writing on the Wall class is kinda similar because it is about the Northern Irish troubles as well, but through the eyes of Artists, Writers, Painters, etc. of the time. Also, a few of the classes go on field trips through out Ireland which is so great because it is FREE and we get to see even more of Ireland!
As for traveling, I am going to try and do as much as I can! A bunch of students on my program and I have gotten together the past few nights and planned out a bunch of trips. We have already booked flights to Prague and Amsterdam, and also booked a hostel in Gallway and County Clare, Ireland! I cannot wait to travel, especially with all the new people I have met! Everyone is seriously so great on this trip and we have all gotten along really well so traveling should be a great time! :)
But, anyways. Ireland has been fabulous so far! The people are SO nice! The pubs are great. The Irish music is amazing! The food is delicious! The rain is nice, sometimes. But overall, I am in LOVE with Ireland! I will promise to update more often and hopefully try and remember things from now on haha! Bye for now!
